The Development Authority of Bryan County (DABC) is now seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager. The job will include performing duties essential to the operational success of the DABC to include, but not limited to, the following: work with the CEO to facilitate and manage all aspects of a site location project, to include initial contact, research, presentations, prospect visits, offer letters, negotiations, location decisions, and announcements. Complete accurate and timely Requests for Information. Create and maintain the DABC website to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Create and manage an existing industry program to include an annual face-to-face survey with each existing industry in the county and an annual (and possibly twice per year) industry appreciation event. Prepare marketing and collateral materials. Write press releases. Track DABC press received in the local and regional newspapers in addition to other news stories that directly affect the DABC’s ability to attract and retain jobs in the community. Create an e-newsletter to be distributed at least twice per year.
Research and maintain a database of current demographic, utility, transportation, labor, and industrial market data.
Perform economic impact analysis using software and training provided by the DABC. Research and maintain current economic information specific to Bryan County, governing authorities, and their budgets, expenses, taxation methods, etc. in order to apply updated information to economic impact analysis. Learn to utilize mapping software (GIS) to analyze spatial data, view aerial photography, site analysis, property ownership information, etc. Monitor sales activity in the market. Develop and maintain databases for information pertinent to industrial activity, marketing, demographics, transactions, etc. Become familiar with the marketable assets, local leadership, and industrial site characteristics. In concert with the CEO, will act as a point of contact for informational inquiries from commercial, industrial, and all other entities relating to Bryan County, specific building sites, market and demographic information, etc. Under the direction of the CEO, will need to develop and maintain personal relationships with economic development contacts, including state project managers, commercial brokers, developers, site consultants, etc. Attend professional organizational meetings, functions, trade shows, prospect visits, etc. as requested by the CEO. May be required to assist in industrial park planning, acquisition, and infrastructure process. Duties may include working with engineers, counsel, partners, local government officials, consultants, and others in park development and maintenance process. Apply for and administer grants when necessary. Attend board meetings and other DABC functions as requested by the CEO. Work with other staff to ensure all reports/attachments are prepared for board meetings and functions as necessary. Inform CEO of work progress and conflicts of all activities and projects. Maintain self-motivation and ambitious work schedule; position will be expected to produce work drafts under tight deadlines with little to no direction that will be submitted to the CEO and reviewed and modified as necessary. Work as a team player with other staff members. Abide by the adopted personnel policy. Maintain confidentiality of privileged information at all times. Punctuality and attendance are essential. Professional behavior is expected in the workplace and at all work-related functions.
Position may occasionally require overnight travel, as well as after-hours (outside of Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) participation in meetings and events. The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (with emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, or Economic Development preferred). A minimum of three years of professional work experience in business development, marketing, economic development, or a related field is required for this job. Candidates with at least three years project management experience are preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and MailChimp is a plus. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s license or be able to secure same within 45 days of employment.
